Welcome to the Western Fire Region. The Team at Western reflects our Region's team focus, and emphasis on working together to support our communities.

Western Fire Region contains nine Territorial Authorities, from North Taranaki through to Ruapehu to the Central Ranges, through the Manawatu to the Horowhenua District. Our Region is comprised of three main cities (New Plymouth, Wanganui and Palmerston North) and many smaller towns servicing primary industries and a total population of approximately 316,000. Active volcanoes, mountain ranges, two ports and several large rivers contribute to the hazardscape in the region.
